It is now possible to send SMS instead of Emails to your guests. No more Internet issues, no more Spam folder problems. Texts are delivered directly to your guest!
This article has been written for people that already know how to send auto messages, if this is not the case, please read this article.
You can set this SMS up easily by following the steps below:
1. Create an account with our Partner SMSFactor
Go to https://smsfactor.com/smoobu and create an account. Through this partner you can add SMS packs for this service.
Important: Add your host.smoobu.com email address to the "allowed senders" section in your SMS Factor account.
2. Set up a new Message Template
(In Smoobu: Settings > Communication > Create) in Smoobu to be sent as SMS.
Write your content that you want to send to your guest.
3. Add the [guestPhone] in the Subject of the template
Note: there needs to be a guest's phone number (in international format) in the Booking Details first.
Smoobu is able to retrieve and send the guest phone number for you automatically.
Make sure to add the text [guestPhone] as the subject of your message template. Copy and paste [guestPhone] over, as it is case sensitive.
4. Add the Recipient
In the Smoobu message template Recipient field, change it from Guest to Individual Recipient and enter the mail address that SMSFactor created for you
Can't find this address? Log into your SMSFactor account and find it under "More services / Mail2SMS"
5. Add the final details
Add the trigger events, Portals, and Accommodations that apply, and Save!
Your mail template sends to SMSFactor which converts this to a Text/SMS, sent to your guest directly.
