How to create my Guest Guide 🎥

Your Guest Guide is a customizable tool designed to provide guests with essential information and enhance their stay.

As mentioned in the first article about the Guest Guide, there are some standard Features in your Guest Guide, but you can also create your own Content. These are customizable sections that allow you to share relevant information with your guests.

Set Up Standard Features

If a default Feature is not useful for your vacation rental, you can deactivate it by clicking on the green button. You can also determine the period during which each feature should be available in the Guest Guide.

Add Custom Content

You may add your own content blocks to your Guest Guide. See instructions below. 

1) Click on "Create" 

1a) Choose a Template or create a personalized section from scratch

2) Enter the Title

Write the name of the section, as short as possible. These titles will appear on the Guest Guide's initial page. In order to keep it appealing, we recommend that you enter only one or two words. 

• Example:
  • "Welcome"
  • Translation for Spanish-speaking guests: "Bienvenidos"

 

3) Add Content

Write your content and center the paragraph with the option "Align center". You can change the font color, size, underline text, etc.

Examples:

• A WhatsApp contact link
• A blog with recommended restaurants
• An interesting tour video

4) Determine the display period and the properties

a) Indicate when this item should be available to your guest in your Guest Guide.
b) Select which properties this content applies to (one, several, or all units).

5) Choose the Icon for This Content

If you have other icons that are currently not available in Smoobu, you may choose them from https://thenounproject.com/ and let us know your suggestions.

While Smoobu is gathering feedback, there’s no ETA for a new icon release. Your suggestions will be considered for future updates.

6) Activate Content

To make the content available immediately, activate it. Otherwise, deactivate it and continue working on it later. Save. 

7) Preview the Guide

Use the Preview option to see how the Guest Guide will appear. It will show an example based on the last confirmed reservation in your account.

How to Share the Guest Guide URL

• Find the booking in the Calendar or Bookings tab.
• Click on the booking to open its details.
• Copy the Guest Guide URL link from this page and share it with your guest.
