An important part of setting up your Booking system is to ensure you have clear and accessible Terms and Conditions and a Privacy Policy statement. This way guests must agree to your T's & C's prior to booking by checking a tick box, with your Terms and Conditions and a Privacy Policy hyperlinked.
This guide will show you how to hyperlink them into your booking page.
Quick take away fact: the Terms and Conditions or Privacy Policy need to be hosted on a page first.
As a Smoobu user you have the choice to choose between creating a website from scratch, or creating a site externally and connecting it to Smoobu.
First check which option you'll be using:
A) The Website Builder is where you create your main website, and is the option to build one from the very beginning.
B) The Booking System is a plug-in for a website that is built and hosted externally. (If you created your own website, use a Web Designer, or a builder like Wordpress, WIX, Squarespace, Jimdo etc and connect Smoobu via embedding our Booking System)
A) If you are using our Website Builder:
Adding Terms and Conditions
Then you may use Smoobu to host your Terms and Conditions page
- To write the Terms and Conditions you do this from the Smoobu website builder: Settings / Website Builder / About us / Terms & Conditions and Save.
- Now your Terms and Conditions are written and hosted in Smoobu's website template, to find the URL, click "Preview", scroll to the bottom of the page and see your links at the bottom of the page. Copy it.
This is how you can obtain your URL: Press Preview (top right-hand corner)
It opens your site, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you can see: Terms of Use
Click it, and copy the link.
Then to add it, you paste the URL into Smoobu here:
Settings / Booking system / Booking System Settings / Legal Requirements
Then when guests book, they see:
Adding a Privacy Policy
It is the same method as above.
Then you may use Smoobu to host your Data Policy page
- To write the Privacy Policy you do this from the Smoobu website builder: Settings / Website Builder / About us / Privacy Policy under "Data Policy" and Save.
- To find the URL, click "Preview" (top right-hand corner) scroll to the bottom of the page and see your links at the bottom of the page.

- Then to add it, copy the URL link, and paste the URL here under Legal requirements

- Then to add it, copy the URL link, and paste the URL here under Privacy Policy
