Recommended: connect Airbnb via API (Dec 2019 changes)

Changes on Airbnb iCal starting December 1, 2019

We have always recommended the official Airbnb connection, since the calendars are updated in real time and optimizes the price management time by means of rate synchronization.

In case you use Airbnb iCal, the main difference is that you handle prices from the Airbnb.com platform and not from Smoobu.

From now on, there's an additional reason for which we strongly recommend using Airbnb to Smoobu official connection. Airbnb has announced that for security and privacy reasons, as of December 1, 2019 iCal links will no longer include guest information. In addition, bookings will be eliminated as they become reservations with check-out in the past.

What is the impact?

If your Airbnb calendars are connected to Smoobu via iCal you will not be able to see the name, surname, reservation code, telephone, etc. in Smoobu, because the iCal link will no longer contain that information. Reservations with a departure date in the past will be deleted from Smoobu.

How to view the complete reservation information?

Connect your Airbnb listings to Smoobu via API, which is the official interface. Go to Smoobu settings - portals - add portal: Airbnb. Follow the instructions to connect.

Once you complete the connection, you can optionally send us a request from the Help section, so we check your connection. We will also re-import your reservations via API.
