Would you rather have your guests send you a booking request for a specific period of time rather than book your property instantly on your website? Good news, this is possible with Smoobu!
Getting Started
First, please click Settings / Website Builder / Accommodations. Then, click Details & Photos next to each accommodation. If you only have one accommodation, the third tab will be the name of the accommodation and there is no need to click Details and Photos.
Under the "Instant Booking" dropdown, you will find the option to toggle off / deactivate this function. After toggling off, press Save. Please note that Instant booking is activated by default.
What does the potential guest see?
After searching for dates on your website, guests will now see a booking request form:
Where do I (the host) receive booking requests?
Booking requests will be sent to the email address that you use to log into Smoobu. They will not show in your Smoobu account. Here is an example of a booking request:
How to "accept" a booking request?
We advise entering a direct booking in Smoobu and let the guest know their booking is confirmed. To create message templates (either to sent manually or automatically), see our guide here:

How to "deny" a booking request?
We advise contacting the guest outside Smoobu to inform them that you have denied their request.
Notes
- Smoobu works with confirmed reservations only, and therefore imports messages related to confirmed bookings only. Inquiries or other messages prior to booking confirmation can't be pulled in since we can't assign them to any of your bookings.
- Therefore, you are not able yet to communicate with potential guests using your @host.smoobu.com alias. Once the booking is confirmed, it will be possible for you to send manual or automated messages to the guest from Smoobu.
