Adding a Rental agreement
In order to secure your holiday rental, you may want to have a rental contract signed. Even for a stay of a few days, this can be useful especially for direct bookings. Whilst we don't provide suggestions on the content of your rental agreement / short term lease, here we will cover the steps on how to incorporate one into Smoobu.
Creating the contract
There are many e-document contract services out there. For this example we will use the free service Jotform. (You can use other services also)
First, we will go to Jotform.com and create a free account. Once the account is created we will simply create a form and choose a template. The template we are interested in is "Online Rental Agreement PDF"
Once chosen, you can modify the text, the photos and especially the contract in question.
Link to the contract: Lease agreement
Once your contract is finished, Jotform will give you a unique address for the contract type, for example https://form.jotform.com/201944032487354
Send the contract automatically:
You can add it to a template, sent as an automatic message: Sending automated messages from Smoobu
Fill out the contract automatically for your customers:
To make life easier for your customers, you probably want to pre-fill in certain fields such as check-in/check-out, the person's name or phone number.
Just add this to the URL provided to you by Jotform:
? Checkin = [arrivalDate] & checkout = [departureDate] & nbPers = [adults] & price = [price] & firstname = [firstGuestName] & name = [guestName] & tel = [guestPhone]
So your connection would look like this:
You can also add &guestEmail=[guestEmail] to your URL to automatically fill in the customer's address. I don't recommend this as this will not ask your Airbnb or Booking customer to share their direct email address.
Please note: Smoobu has no partnership with Jotform, therefore the signed contract will be sent to you by Jotform and will be invisible in Smoobu. This is an add-on service that we found for you and not a Smoobu feature. Thank you for your understanding.
